What is Rose Hip Oil?

Rosehip Oil

Are you looking for something that can help the appearance of your skin and even reverse damage such as wrinkling and pigmentation?  Rosehip oil is the perfect natural solution.  Read on to learn more.

What is Rosehip Oil?

Rosehip oil comes from the “hip” of the rose, which is the seed pod or fruit of the rose that occurs after the rose petals fall off.  This oil is extremely beneficial for the skin.  Rosehip oil contains many nutrients including:
• vitamin A – also known as topical trans retinoic acid, this can help with oily skin, skin that is dehydrated from sun exposure, fine lines, wrinkles, and an uneven skin tone.
• Linoleic acid – helps to preserve the cell’s natural barrier to the environment and is vital for the structure of cell membranes.  This is an omega 6 fatty acid.
• Oleic acid – an omega 9 fatty acid, this helps to create supple and moist skin and improve overall skin condition.
• Linolenic acid – this is an omega 3 fatty acid and it may help to improve skin conditions by softening and moisturising the skin.  It is also important for the structure of cell membranes.
• Lycopene – this is an antioxidant and it protects the skin from free radical damage, reducing the risk of premature ageing.
• Beta-carotene – a source of pro vitamin A and an antioxidant to help improve the appearance of sun damaged skin.  It can also help to prevent the signs of ageing.
• Vitamin C – this is an antioxidant that protects against free radical damage.  It also plays a role in the formation of collagen.
Rosehip oil is a very rich source of essential fatty acids – in fact; it is 80 percent fatty acids.  These are vital for regenerating skin cells, and repairing skin tissue.

Benefits of Rosehip Oil

Rosehip oil has been shown to improve the following:
• scarring
• stretch marks
• scarring from psoriasis
• scarring from eczema
• hyper-pigmentation
• dermatitis
• fine lines and wrinkles
• burns
• acne scarring
• chickenpox scarring
• skin damage caused by sun exposure
• skin elasticity and resilience
• dry skin
• skin tone
• premature ageing
Rosehip oil is a fantastic moisturiser as it will moisturise the dry areas of your skin while not adding too much moisture to oilier areas.

Who Can Use Rosehip Oil and how is it Used?

Rosehip oil can be used by anyone of any age.  Because it has balancing properties, it can be used by both dry and oily skins, and it allows the skin to breathe.  All skin types can benefit from rosehip oil.
Ideally, rosehip oil should be used daily before damage is done to the skin.  Used as a preventative measure, rosehip oil can help reduce premature ageing.  If you already suffer from things such as pigmentation, wrinkling, etc, rosehip oil applied daily can help to reverse the damage and make the skin appear healthier.

Keeping Up With Kundalini Yoga

The term kundalini is an ancient Sanskrit term to describe the innate energy that uncoils from the base of the spine and expands throughout the body. It is an energy that we all have, but it is asleep in most of us as we have not been trained to develop it and unleash it. It exists nonetheless and it only takes dedicated training with a qualified teacher to awaken it within.

The awakened kundalini is a catalyst to see the greater grace that we feel deeply within us in odd moment when we are quiet and peaceful. If you ever feel that deep yearning to embody grace fully, then Kundalini Yoga could be the doorway you seek. The system of Kundalini Yoga diverts us from the stressers of life and brings us back to the divine where we let the goo of everyday life melt away.

The dynamics of Kundalini Yoga combine a plethora of tools and techniques that number in the thousands that work with the body, its energy and the consciousness it contains to become the divine grace that it signifies.

A combination of breathing, stretching, movement, meditation, sound and mudras make up Kundalini Yoga technology. Each session employs a warm-up session engaging spinal flexibility, specific sequences of asanas, breathing and mudras for the time of day or the day of the week, followed by a relaxation and meditative portion. The practitioner can combine and recombine parts of the practice to develop themselves.

The coiled serpent energy that is known as Kundalini stimulates self-healing, self-knowledge, higher states of consciousness and even the creative genius within. It is the doorway to the innate radiance of the Self and the celebration of Spirit. All forms of yoga lead one to the same place, each form is just a different path.

Each of us has the strength within us to realize our true path and yoga gives us the opportunity to discover it beyond the muscle strength into the flow of Spirit and the faith that it imparts to us. As the barriers to Spirit are broken down, we realize we are much more than this body. It is just the vehicle for Spirit to live within in and through it. With the renewed strength of self-realization comes better health, stronger boundaries, improved nervous system strength and a life that flows in union with the Spirit within.

Kundalini Yoga, like other forms of yoga pushes you when the going gets tough. It forces you to make a decision to do more than you ever have and become more than you have ever been. The need for that decision comes into our conscious awareness and tries to shove us into all the reasons we cannot. Once we realize we can, we can do anything. It boils down to two little words than mean a great deal…Keep Up! Once we make it a conscious habit to keep up and not give up, there is no end to the ways you can excel in your life. Kundalini Yoga constantly reminds you to keep up with consistency and faith because you can see the resources clearly within you.

Power Poem

Power Poem

Your words hit me like a thunderbolt

They pearse my heart and I bleed

You turn my power against me

I become the words that you spew

I feel rancid and unworthy

How dare you justify your anger at my expense

I'll take my power back!

I can!

I'll become the person I know I can be

I'll be the person you fear me to be

Your words will still pearce my heart and

my heart will still bleed

I will bleed empathy for your pain, sorrow for your fear,

love for the beauty I see within you

I will pray with love in my heart for you

because I can

Day 10 - Healing a food disorder

Day 10: WOW & yaa me
Ten days without binging & purging. This is huge for me.
I have lived more than half my life with this compulsive obsessive
behavior. I used the bulimia as a release for everything. Feel to good, gotta bring myself down. Feeling down? bring myself up or at least dissociate for a while.
The binge fills the emptiness the purge gives the release. It has been a way for me to escape deep depression for most of my life but has also kept me very isolated & lonely.
Feeling powerless & overwhelmed with no direction & no sense of self. I had low-self esteem when the bulimia took hold around the age of 16 and as it progressed threw the years it was so painful to live my life(I was binging & Purging 2 to 6 times a day)  I felt disconnected to my physical body and adding to this was a profound & deeply ingrained  sense of  worthlessness  because of my inability to stop this incredible self- destructive  behavior. I felt so disgusted with my life so confused  it became very easy for me to fall into the world of drugs. Drugs 'saved' me from the misery of the hellish cycle of bulimia. The drugs became my primary addiction and the bulimia became the far distant second addiction for about 20 years.

The food disorder started at 16.
Heavy drug addiction began in my early 20'.
The last time I used drugs  was at the age of 41. I went into a recovery house for 7 months.(this was my second attempt in the same recovery house. The first attempt I was there  for 7 months and stayed clean for a year.)
What changed with my second time? I found Kundalini Yoga.

I bow to the power greater than myself.
To the one God in all.
To the consciousness that serves humanity.
To the source of our breath.
 To the  great unknown.
To the love that resides in my heart and to the process it has taken to learn this.

Reincarnation

becky bopp
Posted September 21, 2010 by becky bopp
Reincarnation is the belief that the soul of ones spirit is born and reborn into the physical world. All reincarnate. Man has one spirit and one soul. The soul is born into a body while the spirit remains in the spiritual realm. When the soul awakens to its God self, the spirit evolves in the Spiritual realm. When one dies or ascends, the two will become one.

“The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam was made a quickening spirit.”
Paul, 1 Corinthians XV,45.

Reincarnation is an anglicized word of Latin decent meaning reinfleshment. All is said to reincarnate and all will evolve. Each of us carries the DNA of our ancestors. This allows us to tap into their memories. Buddhists believe that we relive our ancestors past over and over again; however, no soul is reborn twice. Tibetan Buddhists believe that it is our consciousness that is reborn,
If you cannot remember any past lives of your self or your ancestors, well the Kabala came up with the reason why. There is even physical proof of it and it is a night angel by the name of Layela who put it there. She invokes amnesia of your past lives by giving your soul a little pinch on the nose while applying pressure to the upper lip. This bears the mark of the Angels fingertip. You know it is the little indent between your nose and lip that everyone has that is the angles fingerprint.

The Hindu texts reveal that the soul will have many lives until it is awakened to the fact that all lives are in the present. The Goddess Kali is the one to guide you through the journey of life, death and rebirth. They say that our soul is experiencing all lifetimes at once. I suppose you can call this a genetic race DNA. With this being true, doppelgangers would be a good source to help you with life’s struggles concerning loved ones and enemies or just facing your own death.
Christians in ancient Rome <4th century AD> believed in reincarnation when the Emperor Constantine was in ruling; however his third wife who was a prostitute persuaded Constantine to remove reincarnation from Christianity because she was not interested in advocating any religion that would demote her in another life. Now Constantine believed in reincarnation and was fearful for his sins, so he was the first roman Emperor to support religious freedom. His motivation was to stay on God’s good side for when he got to Heaven. By the time 787 AD rolled around, reincarnation and karma were ruled out completely by the Nicene Council. Modern Christians do not support the idea of reincarnation.

Karma is the balance of ones actions or lack of actions while alive. It is a link between you and another soul or even a group of souls. Your karmic debt will usually hit you like a tornado on a sunny day, but when you gain insight to the situation you will become neutral and then can move on.

“By means of thought, touch, sight and passions and by the abundance of food and drink there are birth and development of the (embodied) self. According to his deeds, the embodied self assumes successively various forms in various conditions.”
Shevetashvatara Upanishad 5,11.

There is what is called a boomerang reincarnation. This is where in one life you crippled someone and then the next life you are born crippled. It is not a punishment of sorts; it is merely a way to learn.

Another type is called organismic reincarnation. This is to say in one life you were a heavy smoker and then the next life you are born with asthma. Get it? When we are born, our soul has all memory of our existence and when we are born into another body, the soul imprints this information onto our new bodies and our cells have no choice than to react. If you become aware of yourself, you then have the power to over come this.

Another type is called symbolic reincarnation. Say in one life you chose not to see someone’s problems and then in the next you may be born blind. Again, this is not for punishment reasons. It is merely for the learning experience.
We can connect to others we have known from past lives in order to help each other through tough experiences or to remind us who we are as beings of the light. Soul space is when you communicate with other souls of a past life on the level of your highest self, your spirit. You will either love them or hate them as an instant recognition.

Most people will confuse this familiarity with romantic perceptions.

When you learn in the soul space of each other and take the good parts of each other into your own essence this is called soul space fragments.
Soul mates are people that you meet in life by the attraction of karma or destiny. These are the folks who help each other in life; their life’s usually run parallel in experiences, which gives them comfort in their friendship. Soul mates can be anyone from anywhere.

Back to the subject of reincarnation, I personally believe in reincarnation. Here are some ways to recognize the signs: birthmarks and deformities are results from traumatic or emotional past life experiences. Children are the ones who have the best chance of remembering them for they are fairly fresh from the other side. So pay attention to your kids when they speak and do not be afraid to ask them questions either.

Another way to recognize past lives is by speaking foreign languages in the dream state or awake and understanding it, but not knowing it in your present life.
Other ways to recognize past lives in the dream state is by major nature events, your in a different place or time, you may be dressed in clothing from another era or you may recognize material things from a past time period.
Another good way to recognize past lives is by the presence of any abilities that arise at a young age, such as musical, artistic or even visits from angels.

On the ninth of November 2008, I dreampt about my plant named Pete. He told me he will grow if I give him cold water and said he was on his last life. So in waking life, I gave him cold water and a baby plant sprouted next to him. In my dream, I saw the earth sprout and rumble, now I know why. So I researched if plants reincarnate and the Hindus say they do. Spirit starts out in rocks and minerals, to metals, to plant life, to invertebrates, to fish, to birds, then animals, then humans.

Animals and plants on the other hand manifest simultaneously through many animal bodies. It is called a group soul. Animal and plants are grouped in hundreds or thousands where as insects are grouped by the millions. When one of the group dies, they return to the spirit and reveal what they have learned to the rest of the spirit group. These three kingdoms have the option of becoming human.

Jesus said, “Lucky is the lion that the human will eat, so that the lion becomes human. And foul is the human that the lion will eat, and the lion still will become human.”
-The Gospel of Thomas.

Day 8 - Healing a food disorder

I wrote this about 6 years ago

Disorder

Disturbingly satisfying
Even though
The disease of addiction
brings on the disorder of my eating
which continues the compulsion
to continuously throw-up (I mean
purge myself of food)
As disgusting as this seems
A habit is a habit
and so....
disregarding my best interest
and the despairing looks from my peers
I continue to binge and purge

I am finding it difficult to express how I feel about the experiences I'm having as I move threw each day with this journal and staying committed to myself not to engage with the food disorder. I thought about it. What stopped me partially was this journal but mostly the intense urge to binge was not present today  and hasn't been  all week.
Why?
It is time for it to end.

Everything I'v been working on to heal myself is coming together and I am now able to focus on this 31 minute pranayama to quite my mind. It does work. It has not been a comfortable day. I have allot of food in the house. Left overs from the pot-luck I had on Saturday. I still want to dissociate. I would rather watch TV than listen to my mind banter back & forth conversations and events that are no longer valid. Repeat, repeat, repeat.

You would think with all the yoga I'v done that this would have lessoned a bit, and it has. Food disorders bring on many forms of physiological disturbances and miscued perceptions of reality. My mind with all its negativity & loud opinions about myself & others has kept me unsettled & distrusting of my own judgement for most of my life.

so, no food disorder to distract me. I have to be more present but theres a part of me that dos'nt want to be here at all. Its very frustrating.
Good Night
